Foodie Monday

Monday, July 23--We finally made plans with Abbots and had a fun picnic at Bryan park.  We all chipped in something for the lunch, and I loved the Abbots lemonade with mint leaves!  Such a great idea!  They also had finger sandwiches, cherries (which we also happened to bring--what are the odds?!), and zucchini bread.  So yummy!  In addition to the cherries, we brought some bakhlava.  We had spent the day before making borsch and steamed cabbage rolls, so we thought bakhlava would be the way to go :)

Quote of the day goes to Liv.  When we were leaving the park, we were telling Ben and Barbara goodbye.  Liv called out, "Bye Grandma!" to Barbara a few times as we were leaving.  We all died laughing.  You see, both my mom and Tyler's mom have shorter reddish hair and wear glasses.  What's a girl to do?

Later that evening, we went to a Russian culture night that Tyler organized for the SWSEEL Russian Level 3 students.  We had a great time, and the Russian food was a big hit!
